Pennies for MissionsPennies for Missions

Pennies for missions is a special offering that is taken the second Sunday of every month. Our vision is to take the love and Gospel of Jesus Christ out into our world.

As this special offering accumulates it is given to different organizations that may need a helping hand. It is not always in the form of money. Toys, personal items and school supplies, just to name a few

This year we have donated to Midwest missions that help those, around the world that have suffered from natural disasters or are in war torn areas. Locally, money and supplies have been donated to the Bikers for Backpacks ride that collects supplies and money for the local schools in Milan and Rock Island and benefits many underprivileged students.

Our church family receives so many blessings from giving and helping others as we take the light from our church out into the world.

Creative CraftersCreative Crafters

It started in 2005 Bonnie Martin asked, Jean Harper, if there was anything she could do with all the blankets she was making. This was the beginning of the blanket ministry, now known as Creative Crafters. In the time since, over 450 blankets have been prayed over and given to those in need.

This group not only makes prayer blankets, but it has grown in what they make. Prayer blankets & shawls are given to those in our community who are ill. Hats & scarves are given to local shelters and schools. Dish cloths & scrubbers are donated to the local food pantry and placed in the holiday baskets that are given during the holidays.

The latest projects have been pads and sleeves for those dealing with memory and sensory issues. They are called “fidgets”. This is relatively new to what the group does. On these items that are different textures and have items that can be manipulated by those who need this stimulation. To date over 50 “fidgets” have been donated to local memory care units and schools.

No need to know how to knit or crochet, operating a needle and thread is desired, but we can teach. All are welcome to join Wednesdays at 9 am

open roadOpen Road

Open Road Motorcycle Ministry is a group of riders and non-riders who are the hands, feet and wheels of Jesus Christ.

We spread God’s love and grace to all, meeting people where they are and offering a message of hope, faith and love.

We participate in local rides, rallies and other places where bikers may gather. We also do bike blessings and prayers when called upon. We support local motorcycle clubs, associations and groups in charitable rides and gatherings.

GriefShareGriefShare

Help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member, or friend

GriefShare is a special weekly seminar and support group designed to help you rebuild your life after losing a loved one. Our group is led by caring people who have experienced grief and want to help you through the difficult days ahead.

During the holidays we offer a special stand-alone 2-hour session for coping with grief and loss during the most “festive” time of the year.  This is usually scheduled in November.

We also offer a stand-alone session for the loss of a spouse.

We know it hurts, and we want to help.
